Officially, C ang usa sa una nga language nga maka-comprehensive og effective nga pagtudlo sa programming.
Other schools are using Java, to be able to teach OOP at an early stage, and still cover topics available at C.
But to take advantage of output oriented minds, you can go for HTML/PHP.
Ang among teacher gi-apil ang MS-DOS, to establish the concept of calling a module or process of execution.
Also, I would like to suggest of opening a programmer's club, some kids really gets the programming concept quite fast.
Probably true in older generations. As far as I observed nowadays, kids tend to be interested if they can see something moving. Giving C is probably boring to them, just my opinion though, maybe different way to teach but not spoon-feeding. There was this project that supposedly bring back the niceties of programming, see Microsoft Small Basic. I don't know if it helped or can help though but it should be worth a try.
^^^ As far as I know, mao ni curriculum sa San Carlos.
So dili tingali kaayo older generations.
Besides, if you just want to get them to be interested then just show them something really cool.
Like Diablo 3, that is a very good example of a programming marvel.
At the same time, they won't probably learn a thing, because they can't understand the code.
It is nice to keep them interested but they should understand that programming starts with a blank screen.
