Thank you for defining the Interwebz official trolling music.
Famous Russian crooner Eduard Khil dies in St. Pete
Eduard Khil, one of the most popular Soviet singers best known as Mr. Trololo, passed away on June 4 in St. Petersburg. He was 77.
Eduard Khil lived a life full of enormous success, oblivion and tremendous world-wide fame in his declining years. One can only be amazed by such a plentiful life and the astounding success he enjoyed in 2010, when one of Khil’s Soviet-era video clips suddenly became an unexpected sensation on the web. In the video, he performed a rollicking song without a single word, entitled "I Am So Happy to Finally Be Back Home."
The video garnered millions of views in the American and European Internet communities, undercutting even Obama’s speeches. Slews of button badges, mugs and T-shirts portraying Khil sold like hot cakes in British Internet shops. Loads of fan art, including parodies and featured videos, was dedicated to Eduard Khil. His most avid admirers even went as far as creating a community, estimated at over 14,000 members. That’s when Mr. Trololo first made his appearance.
