For anyone who still remember those cool TV shows before cable when TV usually just had four channels? Share something about your memorable shows and what you remember about them.
Come on don't be afraid of your age.
Quantum Leap - 1989
Man time travels but also inhabits bodies of other people and fix their lives. (We used to hate it when he becomes a woman because we'll have to watch the entire episode of a guy in dress. lol)
Tour of Duty - 1987
Show about the Vietnam War in soldier's perspective. I think it was a really deep show. We used to watch this when I was little but I only enjoyed it for the action back then. My father, who was just fresh out from the military enjoyed this most.
War of the Worlds - 1988
The only thing I remember about this show is that it was frightening man. At least when I was little. The aliens have no regard for human life and would often times kill them in the goriest way possible. (TV wasn't very strict to show gore back then). The aliens were very intelligent and could hide inside the person's body, they could disguise as generals, soldiers, teachers, your parents. The show can make you paranoid.
Captain Power & the Soldiers of the Future - 1987
Machines are at war with mankind. Mankind lost. Just watch the intro. This show was really popular. If you think this is like Power Rangers well its not. The story lines were much serious and the atmosphere were darker.
Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories - 1985
Shown in Friday nights. It was basically made of different stories usually centered on fantasy, horror, and science fiction. No show was ever a like each week. Kids love the show and we use to talk about it in school on Mondays.
Monsters - 1988
Same with Amazing Stories except Monsters was aimed at adult audiences and it featured different monsters (obviously). Don't let the intro fool you. There were episodes that were just too scary and disturbing for kids. I recommend this one for true Horror and Sci-Fi fans who want deeper stories in their movies, you won't be disappointed and there episodes shown in Youtube.
Forever Knight - 1992
Remember when vampire movies were dark and scary? Well I don't remember much about Forever Knight because it was overshadowed by the popularity of the X-Files. Basically it was a "detective-show" but the cop is a vampire and he's trying to remove his guilt from hunting humans for 800 years by siding with them and hunt bad guys instead and also other vampires.
