What type of snake? Venomous? or Non-Venomous?

Hi istoryans,
I've heard naa experts diri sa mga snakes. My cat caught this this morning sa amo kitchen, and I was asking around what type of snake this is, but I couldn't get the sure answer for it. But daghan ni ingon cobra, but It didn't seem to act like one, although aggressive siya but he did not stand like a cobra did. It's still pretty small, around 11" or so...





Thank you for those indeed could help me identify what type of snake he is. And I hope the others would respect this thread.

Correction... That's not a Ratsnake (Elaphe spp.) & it doesn't mimic a Cobra (Naja spp). That's a Common Wolfsnake (Lycodon capucinus). A juvenile starting to show it's adult color morph.
The way it rears up is it's way of showing that it's agitated & poising up ready for a strike. It does such to ward of potential threats & predators. As well as to make a stance when a potential mate is around.

It's a colubrid, rear fanged, typically harmless. But it has two segments of pseudo-canine teeth that inflicts abit nasty painful bite with very minor mechanical damage.

But the first one that my cat caught is a wolf snake and it has a different color than this one...

and oh, i have this back home... it measures a meter now... and the color never changed... i caught it eating my pregnant mice which i breed for the consumption of my ball python and blood python...

i just caught the wolf snake last april..kinda tamed cya... I'm on the process of taming it pa...at that size ma'am, di mn au sakit ila bite...that size, WOW! sakto au para ma tame...
