Today, Im goin' to be subjective. My point here is just to let current/future customers of PLDT be aware of the product/service they are buying with PLDT. I am not saying that my experience would happen to them but WHO KNOWS?
I am applying for PLDT because I thought they were reliable. They've been in the telephony industry since 1928. Despite negative feedbacks from 3 of my neighbors, I believed they fit my requirements for setting up my first internet cafe as well as my freelance career with oDesk. So I pursued my bundled (phone and internet) application with them because of my belief and trust with them anyway, it was long ago since my neighbors disconnected their PLDT service.
However, my belief turned out nightmare when I bumped these problems even at the start of my phone and internet connection with them. Here are the reasons why I hate their product/service:
1. A week after my application, my internet got disconnected. Reason: They need to activate my account. But after a week, it got back again. At first I tried to accept this trying to comfort myself by thinking this must have been their Standard Operating Procedure, but I asked myself, does it really take 1 week to activate my account?
2. Problem escalates when I tried to call their customer service. Their customer service really sucks BIG TIME. Most of the time, no one answers or sometimes it takes a couple of minutes (30 minutes) before someone answers your call. This is stupidity.
3. After a month, I got disconnected again (actually not just me, in fact my neighbors too). Reason was, the main box where telephone/internet connections in our area are connected got some power surge. Is this how unreliable PLDT boxes are? Luckily, after A WEEK, it got resolved. You got it right, AFTER A WEEK.
4. After 15 days, I got disconnected again. I kept calling the customer service about the problem and keep asking what's the cause of this problem. The first Customer Service representative who attended my call said it was a telephone problem. What the heck, I told them that its not just my telephone whose having problems but my internet connection as well! The phone then hanged up. Not either of us hanged it up but it was due to the telephone line I was having problem with. The next day, I called again, the second customer service representative just asked me with their "usual" call center scripted questions wherein he finally stated that he will be making a report for this, that's before our conversation ended up with a hang due to the telephone line problem again. The next day, they sent me a stupid technician who only knows how to fix telephone connection problems! F**K. Don't they understand that I was having problem to both telephone and internet connection? So I called again and responded that they are now processing the issue. The next day, someone called me (probably it was their technician) and told me that the cause was due to my billing. Naloko na!!! I paid my bill a week before the due date, why the heck would I have problems with my billing? I told the caller to please verify but he hanged me up. To me this is a sign of disRESPECT. The next day, they sent me a telephone technician again who called me that my telephone connection is now ok. WTF!!! How many times should I tell these guys I was having problem with both my phone and DSL connection?!?!?!
Up until last week, my internet connection was still down. Worst case, my telephone was having the same problem as it was before, in contrary to what the last technician told me. Due to hatred, I sold my computer units and closed my internet cafe. I was also having problems with my oDesk employers since I haven't reported a few days. This is what I got with PLDT's service!
