Naa ba ni sa Cebu?
wala ni sa cebu but all uniformed firefighters (BFP) and select police (PNP-SAF) and jailguard (BJMP) units are were trained under this system. All Philippine Marines and some Philippine Army units are also well trained in this system.
Sir Devian, naa ni sa atoa sad. But no one teaches this here locally. Practitioners aning Pekiti Tirsia Kali are mostly Special Units sa AFP, PNP, BJMP, and BFP. However, staple ni siya sa mga members sa Philippine Marines. If naa mo kaila nga opisyal sa Marines, sulayi lang sila ug duol kay basin maka tabang sila ug inform nimo bahin ining PTK. Last 2011, our tactical officers in the BFP were here conducting training to BFP personnel. Their program of instruction includes a crash course in Pekiti Tirsia Kali. However, I do not know when they will conduct training here in cebu city again.

Thanks for the info.
Mora way pag-asa kay wa gyud kaila na military.![]()
sa pulis wala sad kay kaila? naka sulay ko aning PTK pero mao lagi crash course ra way back in boot camp 3yrs ago. kung sa layer pa sa onion, kutob ra ko sa panit. beyond that, wa na. Anyway, very unlike ni siya sa present-day arnis with Doce Pares or Even Balintawak kay they still adopt the old traditional eskrima concept of long range fighting. Foot work is similar to all eskrima styles (triangle theory gihapon). The stick is treated as a live bladed weapon, so seldom makita ang mga disarms nga mu gunit sa stick. very good ang emptyhand ani nila which has roots sa kuntaw (I think lang ha kay murag same ra man ilang concept sa strikes). Knife work is good. anyway, I prefer not to make any deeper comments due to my lack of ample experience with this style. Makita nimo how they do things sa you tube bai if you really wish to see how they roll... just look for it.![]()
mao interested ko ani tungod sa close quarter knife work. gamit kaayo sa hold-up situation.![]()
mao sad... but why not try other local styles? Cebu has more than a dozen existing styles all with good foundation on knife fighting.
anyway, I'l try to see if I could refresh myself a bit about PTK when some of our fresh recruits comes home to cebu after their basic training from camp vicente lim (they will be home approximately by May or June this year given they don't mess up in bootcamp). then maybe I could share a bit of this PTK with you. how about that?
