medyo libog lng ko sir about choosing processors.. which is more important, its clock speed or its cache? palit unta ko ug processor for my vintage mobo (LGA 775) ganiha sa GI.. naay processors na dagko ug clock speed pero gmay cache, naa pud gmay clock speed pero dako ug cache... which of which should i prefer? d man kaau ko familiar ani gud.. hope ma enlighten ko ninyo about ani mga sir..

Cache is for multitasking, the bigger the better, the bigger the clock then the faster it will cache...

post kun unsa ang mga processors na gi mention nmo bro para atoang ma check... choosing the right processor means, choosing the right micro-architecture... daghan ra ban'g micro-architecture sa Intel na nagamit sa LGA775...

Pentium E6600 that has 2.40GHz clock speed and 4MB cache... and unfortunately i forgot the other one... balik lng ko sa G.I ugma sir lloyd.. ang na remember nako naa ra sa 2.5+ ang clock speed pero ang cache is 3MB which confused me so much... ahahaha "EDITED"

Slightly difference ra ang cache from 2-3mb sir. Get a higher clock speed not just the cache.

Pentium D 960 that has 3.6GHz and 4MB cache..
Pentium P4-661 that has 3.6GHz and 2MB cache..

i prefer the Pentium D 960 (2 cores, 2 threads) than the P4-661(1 core, 2 threads)...dako lang ug TDP ang 960 (130W) compare to the 86W sa 661..

ah i see... same ni sya (E6600 @ 3.06 GHz) sa isa ka PC sa balay namo sa mandaue... kuha-a ang details sa isa ka CPU then once makuha nimo, post dri para matabangan ka nmo ug check...

mura'g wala ma'y processor na LGA 775 na 3 MB ang cache... 2 & 4 MB ra for the normal dual core CPU version... then 4, 6 and 12MB for the extreme edition... then 4, 6, 8 & 12 MB pud for the quad core CPUs... ang nagamit ug 3 MB cache kay sugod sa 1st gen core i3 & i5...

akoang ning gitan-aw ang info sa site sa Intel... if naa ko'y na miss, please correct me... thanks

Pentium P4-661 that has 3.6GHz and 2MB cache..

if maka likay ka ani nila bro, ayaw palit aning duha na CPU... got a Pentium D 925 dri sa HTPC sa akoang anak (dad-on nko dha sa cebu)... pero, hinay man... so, akoang gi ilisan ug Celeron E3400... ok ra ang E3400. pwede gani ni ma OC pero, wla nko gi OC kay gamay ra ang wattage sa PSU sa rig... hehehe... 170W ra man gud but so far, pyts ra sya...


kun pa pili-on ko sa anang duha na gi mention nmo, I'll chose the Pentium D 960... actually, 2 die na sya... bali 2 Pentium 4 die in one package ang Pentium D...
