What appears to be HP's first Windows 8 tablet has made an appearance in what is allegedly and internal HP presentation slide. It's only a render of what the device might look like, but it gives us a good idea as to what to expect from HP's first Windows 8 tablet, which will be using an x86 CPU as it's targeting businesses rather than consumers.The tablet in question is simply named the HP Slate 8 and it should sport a 10.1-inch display of unknown resolution. It will come with Windows 8 Professional and has support for both multi-touch and stylus based input. HP will also be offering an "enterprise level" docking solution which presumably means keyboard, mouse, display and wired Ethernet connectivity. A wide range of security features will come as standard as well, such as TPM, HP's ProtectTools software and support for Computrace device tracking.
The slide also claims that the tablet will measure a mere 9.2mm thick, that's slimmer than Apple's iPad and that it'll weigh in at 680g, yet somehow be able to deliver 8-10h of battery life. It's not clear if HP will use an Intel or AMD processor, but due to the corporate business angle of the Slate 8, we'd guess we'll see a 17W Ultrabook CPU from Intel in it once it potentially launches.Source: Neowin
