Have been testing Vista since it's Beta days and currently running Vista Ultimate at home and running Vista Business here at work. I like the new UI effects, it's better security, and extra added tools... but there's nothing bout Vista really that made me wet my pants. It's still the same old Windows and it's Start button.
My verdict:
-If you have a perfectly fine running XP machine at the moment, then stick with it.
-If you're a gamer, a Vista upgrade might be something worth considering when DX10 games starts coming out.
-If you're thinking of buying a new PC or upgrading your old one, then go ahead, get a Vista OEM loaded on to it. Doesn't hurt to have the latest OS from Redmond installed.
Vista Ultimate. Except for when I'm browsing through files, I'm in apps where the app matters, not Vista.
Not just DX10, how about Windows LIVE gaming? -> Microsoft Brings LIVE Gaming to Windows VistaOriginally Posted by obemon
This could bring MS big bucks when Xbox360 gamers meet Vista gamers on LIVE
Makes sense that they are developing gaming products which are compatible not just with Xbox360 but also Windows XP and Windows Vista (i.e. the Xbox360 wired controller).
