    Its using the cell sites to provide internet.

    it uses a technology called EDGE.

    PLDT is currently offering it at around 2,000 , I think ( unlimited use). The advantage is in most areas ( not yet all) where there is cell signal, you can also surf.

    the speed is about 60 to 120 kbps.

    Our company will soon be releasing a bundle where you can get weroam bundled with a notebook computer package. Probably to launch next month.

    will inform here.

    notebook is not for free were man ka mangita og notebook nga free?kung naa sultihi ko aron mo kuha ko ana na product na free ang notebook.

    the speed of minumum of 60 kbps. it cannot be differentiate with the DSL connection because DSL is all about the speed but the PLDT Weroam is all about mobility...mostly those people always travel all around the philippine island na always pud connected sa internet....but all of use can use this....

    Im using WEROAM right now, the speed based on my laptop is 220 kbps which is i think very good. the hardware im using now is a Sierra GSM/GPRS PCMCIA card. Bottomline, I think this is a cool concept, using GPRS to enhance mobility. Much like the BLACKBERRY concept i should say. Cost is 2,500 per month...

    Yes I did, I tried it all over Visayas and some parts in Mindanao. What i have experienced though is that sometimes the speed goes down to 60 to 128 kbps which I think i apparent because of cellsite signal problems of SMART. What I think is that the bandwidth depends on the signal of SMART in the area. I didnt monitor the download speeds for a particular area since im not always downloading large files but in as far as i had experienced, no problem here in Cebu and Davao. Iloilo and Bacolod its slower.

    @edge827

    not realy smart wifi is very different, as what i know wifi is using a 802.11 technology while thw pldt weroam is using a GPRS/EDGE Technology.
