My partner and I have been living together for 3 years. She's the one who would tell me "may muta ka, so big, but I still love you" or "loooove, can you wash the dishes tonight..oh and throw the trash and don't forget to walk the dogs in the morning sabay hug and kiss from my back" lol...her antiques make me crazy.

Finally...whew! I bought her THE engagement ring 6digits worth. Teary eyed, with my speech, perfect timing, us alone, I asked - "WILL YOU WAKE UP WITH ME EVERY MORNING AND KISS ME GOODNIGHT EVERY EVENING UNTIL MY LAST BREATH?"

She: (her eyes reddening and with her high pitched voice) "You should have told me you're gonna buy a ring!! I don't like the design! Ilang karat ba to?! Tell me! Can we replace this??!!You should have told me that you're gonna buy a ring! I should have chosen what I want...blah...blah..blah"

Me: ahhh...ok love. Let's pick your ring together, we can have it replaced.

She: "Hehe...yes, i'll marry you and oh! We should be partners sa business. Oh! And a joint account! Does that mean our payables are joint too?"

Me: Yes love ko..... (I have bigger debts...*evil smirk*)

If you're reading this baby...you now I love you so much and I have felt your very warm love for me.

    Thank you ms. columnist

We are so used to reading stories about boyfriends taking their girlfriends out on a date, get on their knees and proposed.

We have heard of stories about boyfriends hiding the ring in the cake, ice cream or whatever.

We have seen so many videotaped proposals, all of which are creative. However, I do not think my proposal fall under such cliched categories.

Because technically my fiancee proposed to me when we are not really together. Seriously, we cooled it off for like four days.

I knew he is going to ask me back, but I wasn't expecting it to be through a proposal.

    Anyway, here is the story...

Fiancee hates my uncanny ability to ruin every single planned surprise. No, I am not a mind reader, I just happen to figure out the things he's cooking.

Anyway, it was the evening of July 25, 2011. We already talked the previous night, but there was no mention of him coming to my house or anything.

Therefore, when he called me that evening to tell me that he was outside our house, I was stunned. Literally!

I was unprepared for his unscheduled visit. By unprepared I mean, no bath, no "laag worthy" get.up. I was in my oversized shirt and torn shorts.

So, I went outside and opened the gate for him.

He stepped inside and stopped. Then out of nowhere he held a hand puppet. Then he said ( while making the puppet's head move): "if you are perverted enough, look beneath my skirt"

I was surprised. Nonetheless, I peeked beneath the hand puppet and there it was. A shiny gold engagement ring.

Then he said "Will you take me back, this time forever?"

I was tearing up. I couldn't say anything except nod. I gave him a very tight hug and apologized for the cool-off. It was a mistake from the start.

I have never been with a guy who understands me better than I understand myself.

That was last year, this year, we are waiting for the 28th of July to finally tie the knot.

I am planning to propose to my girlfriend, since she will be going abroad and we are together for 5 years now. Is it okay to give a silver engagement ring? Still on a tight budget, but deffinitely after 2 years I will replace it with a white a gold with real diamond on it. Thanks in advance for the rply!
