Nokia CEO Stephen Elop reportedly stated that multi-core mobile processors are a waste of battery life in a recent interview with a Chinese newspaper. Yangcheng Evening News quotes Elop as having said, “the so-called dual-core, quad-core mobile phones can only waste batteries, but not be useful for consumers all the time.” Microsoft’s Windows Phone mobile operating system does not support multi-core chipsets, but the company has been highlighting the “real world performance” of its handsets through the “Smoked by Windows Phone” challenge. Elop went on to claim that the company’s flagship Lumia 900 has never been defeated by the iPhone or an Android smartphone, despite the dual-core and quad-core processors found in those devices.

And this is the same guy who have brought Nokia down to its knees to become the surrogate child of Microsoft....

The same guy who made a lot of Finnish lost their job throughout all the Nokia Factories in Finland.

The same guy who made a handshake with Steve Balmer in conjunction with Microsoft's buyout of Nokia's shares. and NOW the same guy is prophesying that because all other smartphone leaders are racing to have a dual-core, quad-core and perhaps a penta-core on their phones, ELOP is saying that Windows mobile running smartphones doesn't need one....

Talking about being really a subservient dog to Bill Gates aren't we? hehehe, on my account, its one form of saving grace in my opinion.....ELOP of all the person knows that he can't do anything to speed up the race on his company (dominated by Samsung, Apple, LG, and etc) because his hands are being tied down and manipulated by no other than Bill Gates /Steve Balmer themselves...

Now's whose talking about a puppet to who...........tsk tsk tsk

well, if you think about it, who wuld really need a fast processor for calling and texting? if you want a fast app, do it on a tablet or laptop. id rather have a trusty candybar phone where i could bang here and there and still can do text and calls...hehehehe
