Organizers of the “Be Honest: Run For The Truth, Run for the Filipino” announces that the new deadline for accepting registration of participants to the Family Fun Run is on March 10, 2011.
Those who are interested to participate have two more days to sign up at the event. Walk-in participants may also sign up at the registration desks just before the start of the Fun Run.
The activity is slated to kick off starting at 4:30 am on March 17, 2012 at the IMAX Parking Lot on Seaside Boulevard within the SM Mall of Asia compound in Pasay City. The run categories are 15K, 10K, 5K, 3K, & 500 Meters with an expected participation of 5,000 runners. The entry fee is Php 550.00 per runner for any category.
The latest running event in the country is geared toward promoting truth and honesty in the lives of Filipinos.
Said Race Director Alberto C. Bugayong of the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP), organizer of Be Honest Run 2012 happening on March 17, 2012, “We invite Filipinos from walks of life to join the fun run. Let us show numbers in support of the ‘Be Honest’ advocacy.
A non-stock, non-profit organization, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with 30,000 members nationwide, the BCBP launched the Be Honest Run in conjunction with its 32nd National Anniversary Celebration.
In addition to the fun run, some of the other BCBP “Be Honest:” initiatives include honesty campaigns targeting Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) drivers, oratorical contests in public schools and offering incentives such as “The Most Honest Award” to students.
Said Bugayong, “We believe that the running event is one of the best ways to promote honest and truthful lives, as well as spread the word of God on brotherhood and love,” said Bugayong.
For his part, Jun Gacias said, “Joining the Be Honest Fun Run will not only mean support for the “Be Honest” advocacy, you will also have a great bonding time with your family and friends, as well as new acquaintances in the persons of your fellow runners.”
The Be Honest Run will have cash prizes up for grabs for the top three finishers of each category, as well as participating organizations, schools, running clubs or companies who will be able to form the biggest running group. Finishers’ medals will also be awarded to the 10k and 15k runners while race kits that include singlets, bibs and race route will be courier-delivered to all registered participants who are also entitled to a loot bag of giveaways.
