A specifications slide for AMD's upcoming Radeon HD 7800 series has been leaked by a Japanese website. The Pitcairn chip effectively doubles up on Cape Verde, featuring 1280 SP in 20 CU, 80 TMU, 256-bit 2GB memory and 32 ROP. Transistor count also nearly doubles to 2.8 billion.

The fully enabled Radeon HD 7870 clocks in at 1 GHz, and will be branded Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition, taking after the HD 7770 GHz Edition. 1280 SP at 1 GHz results in a theoretical throughput of 2.56 TFlops, surprisingly close to the HD 7950. 2GB GDDR5 is clocked at 4.8 Gbps for an effective memory bandwidth of 154 GB/s. The TDP of HD 7870 is rated at 175W - up from 150W of the HD 6870. The HD 7870 will most likely feature 2x6-pin power connectors then. Of course, PowerTune will push up the Max Board Power up closer to 200W if enabled.More affordable Radeon HD 7850 disables off 4 CUs to leave 16 CUs enabled. This translates to 1024 SP and 64 TMU. The HD 7850 is clocked at 860 MHz and rated 1.76 TFlops. It retains the same memory subsystem as HD 7870, with 2 GB GDDR5 offering 154 GB/s bandwidth. Thanks to the disabled units and lowered core clock, the HD 7850 drastically cuts down TDP to 130W. It could ship with only 1 6-pin power connector, and could make it the fastest GPU with such a configuration for a long time to come.Of course, both HD 7850 and HD 7870 will be based on the GCN architecture, fabricated on TSMC's 28nm and will continue to offer all the same features introduced with Radeon HD 7970.Source: GDM.or.jp

yes, 1 AMD GPU (eyefinity capable) is needed for an eyefinity set-up. on the other hand, Nvidia's 3D vision surround and 2D surround display requires at least a two-way SLI mode... below are links from both AMD and Nvidia sites.

Depende ra sad sa shader specs.. Pero kaya siguro sa single card basta dili eyefinity nga 1080p and at least 7800 card. Mga 3x 1366x768 siguro..
