WD Mybook Essential Naay power but not detected on my PC

I got the drive from my wife's cousin its a
WD Mybook Essential 1TB USB 2.0
Model:WDBAAF0010HBK

the problem is wala siyay power cable when we recieved it, basin ug nawala or something didto sa saudi.
it tried using a 6w universal adapter set it to 12v since maoy kinahanlan na voltage sa drive gi plug nako sa pc ang usb mo andar man siya naa power siga ang LED sa atubangan katong gmay na dot pero dli ma detect sa akong pc.

my guess is basin ug gamay ra ang 6w mao nga dli maka supply ug sakto nga power?

any ideas ug ngano dli siya ma detect?

the best way to check if the hard drive is working is to open the hard drive enclosure, remove the hard drive inside the enclosure. connect the hard drive inside the pc and check if it is detected in the BIOS

Sakto. Power gyud. Need ka at least 12w. 8w ang consumption sa iyang hd nga wd green but would consume more on start up.

btw ang exact power specs diay is
12V 18w

Awa.. Kuwangan pa diay ng ingon nako nga at least 12w. Ako lang gikuha ang 8w consumption sa hd, add 50% for startup=12w.. You need at least 2A-12v power adapter to be safe..Ngita na lang ka ug adapter sa mga printer (naay uban nga dili 9v), led monitors (like hp), electronic keyboards(like yamaha).. Wala tingali sa cdr-king..

naa koy nakit.an nga adapter sa cdr king..pero dli man to pang HD pang laptop man to universal adapter...
ang ampere sa mybook kay 1.5A...
pde raba kaha ang katong akong nakita.an sa cdr king na website nga universal laptop adapter noh?

Problem solved...nipalit ko sa handy man ug katong universal adapter nila katong dako jud sakto ug wattage...ni andar gyud tawn siya...salamat sa mga tips mga brad...
