Exploring Ilocos Norte is so worth the very long travel to get there (if you're from NAIA or Clark). From historical sites to natural attractions, there are so much to see, so much to experience.
You can go to Ilocos via Manila (10-11 hours), Clark (7-8hrs), or direct to Laoag. For us, it was thru Clark. At the Diosdado Macapagal Int'l Airport's arrival area, there's an aircon jeepney that can take you to Dau Bus Terminal (fare: P50). At the terminal, the north-bound buses can be found at the left side. Be quick when boarding though, since these buses are from Manila so available seats are limited. I don't know the fare from Dau-Laoag since we were bound for Vigan first (Fare: P440, Florida Bus w/ toilet, drop-off Batac).
If you're coming from Manila, the nearest terminal would be at Partas, Pasay Rotonda. Just ride the airport's shuttle (Fare: P20) and drop off at the last stop -- at the back of Chowking/McDo Rotonda. Ride a trike to Partas Bus terminal, just ask policemen for directions.
For our two-day Ilocos tour, we availed the van tour service of Kuya Lenzer (
http://www.facebook.com/kuyaLenzer) since it's more advantageous and there are 7 of us to share the cost. We chose Kuya Lenzer since he's highly recommended online -- driver/tourguide/photographer -- then hatid-sundo sa terminal. Then we stayed at Ate Cathy's homestay (0919-5716680) at Saud Beach, Pagudpud (250/head group room).
