Default AMD now rolling out FX-6200 and FX-4170 plus price cuts

AMD's FX lineup of desktop processors has been dusted off a bit thanks to a couple of new additions to the series in the form of the FX-6200 and FX-4170 along with some price cutting on two existing chips; namely the FX-8120 and the FX-6100. It's a shame AMD hasn't included its flagship FX-8150 with it still costing too much in line of the competition at about $245.The new 32nm-based hexa-core FX-6200 and quad-core FX-4170 AM3+ processors both run a TDP of 125W and carry 8MB of L3 cache. The FX-6200 has a base clock of 3.8GHz with Turbo at 4.1GHz, while the FX-4170 runs at 4.2GHz with a 4.3GHz Turbo speed.Pricing on the FX-6200 and FX-4170 hasn't officially been disclosed, but as an indication the FX-6200 is up for pre-order at 152.70 Euro and the FX-4170 is shifting for 120.60 Euro at the time of writing. As for the aforementioned price cuts on the FX-8120 and FX-6100 chips, they've taken a small dive from $205 to $185 and $155 to $145, respectively.Source: Tech Report
