MEDIA AND LEGISLATIVE RESEARCH ANALYST
Overview:
This busy consultancy is looking for a media and legislative research analyst interested in growing along with
the company. The individual should be an independent self-starter, reliable, and a natural problem solver.

Job Description:
The candidate will monitor print, broadcast and social media platforms to provide consultants with daily
information flows to support their work, as well as assess the impact of their campaigns. Related to this,
the individual would be expected to monitor legislative and committee debates, summarizing relevant
information and providing real-time alerts of potential issues.
The ideal candidate would have a journalism and/or political science background. Training will be
provided.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare daily issues summaries based on media searches, using our provided technology
platforms.
• Prepare, from time to time, retrospective reports of media coverage on key issues
• Prepare analytical reports assessing media coverage
• Maintain a database of key reporters, editors, and social media content producers
• Monitor legislative proceedings, as required, and preparing summary reports related thereto
• Maintain a rolling calendar of key events related to client needs (e.g. conferences, speeches)
• Forward monitoring reports, media stories, and event bulletins to our clients
• Maintain flexibility and perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
• College graduate, preferably in journalism or political science, with excellent written English
communications skills
• Skilled in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience in journalism, public policy or government preferred.
