Going a long while back now, Thermalright quickly gained a much stronger presence in the CPU cooling realm when it introduced the almighty Ultra 120 Extreme (or TRUE as it became more popularly referred to) which was arguably the biggest, boldest and best performing air cooler for your Pentium IV or Athon 64 CPU and it took quite a lot of effort from competing manufacturers to eventually come up with something that could knock it off the podium.
We've seen some pretty interesting CPU heatsinks released from them since then, but perhaps nothing that has gained the same level of market presence. That may potentially be about the change however with the birth of Thermalright's new Silver Arrow SB-E CPU Cooler.This monster-ish dual tower/fan setup boasts eight chunky nickel-plated copper heatpipes each with a 6mm thickness, while its dual-fan arrangement comes in the form of a 140mm and a 150mm TY PWM fan. On the subject of fans, this model looks to be more friendly in terms of leaving more space for taller memory modules thanks to some cleverly designed fan-clips.
Processor support is strong with Intel LGA 2011 / 1366 / 1156 / 1155 / 775 and AMD AM2(+) / AM3(+) / FM1 processors all being on the compatibility list.We would have liked to have shared some impressive numbers in terms of exact dimensions and weight etc. but we are yet to obtain these details. The pictures floating about online however do show the kind of immense footprint we're looking at with the Silver Arrow SB-E and it's hard to imagine that it won't be one hell of a serious piece of kit if you want to stay on the air cooled path.
