For May 2007 polls: Angara discloses 3 main platforms of 'Third Force'

Senator Edgardo Angara has revealed that the main platforms for the May 2007 elections of the so-called "Third Force", that he prefers to be referred to as the "Middle Force", have already been polished to focus on countryside development, education reforms and peace and order.

"The main platforms are the top three concerns of the Middle Force. It's nice to hear that we are growing 6.9 percent, but that is in macro level. We need to develop the rural sector and circulate the money in the countryside. We need to push for competitiveness in our education. And we need to make Juan dela Cruz safe in his home and on the streets," Angara said.

nice platforms but not concrete... i don't see (yet) anything that is achievable.. all words of mouth maybe... every candidate would say he is for national development but nobody specifies any projects to be done.. voters please do not be influenced by mere generalizations of political agenda to win your vote... think of the benefits the Philippines will reap if a deserving candidate is elected.

Motherhood statements, as one of my professors bluntly states it, are the best examples of fallacies that these politicians tell during the campaign period. We should be wary on them.

Well, we might as well look at the performances of those candidates who will run again. It is the best gauge if they will be serving for the benefit of the public in the future. As for the first time candidates, they should know better than just winning. This is not a mere popularity contest. If ever they win, they have to serve the public in the next three years or so.

third force? in short ang dili maapil sa dagko nga partido, not necessary gisuka sila but wala lang sila mahatagi ug pwesto sa dahko nga partido. Angara? Mura'g wala jud ni sa akong listahan.

Pero bisan pa if unsa nga force, dili unta by party ang pagbutar sa Pinoy but sa tawo.

I haven't watched that commercial of Angara, but that sounds interesting.

The emergence of a third force is perfectly alright with me. The people will have various choices on their senatorial list. After all, anyone can run as long as he meets the qualifications and is not disqualified by law either. Nonetheless, it's not just running and winning in the May 2007 elections.

It's more of what will these candidates do after they win.
