they have a new album but the review i read about the album is not so good, i think the reviewer was not impressed by their

line up of songs but nevertheless he wrote that nickelback still knows how to make nice rythms. will check their songs for myself

though and ill be the one to judge.

Nickelback rocks in Abu Dhabi

Canadian band Nickelback wowed thousands of their fans packed into the du Arena in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island with exciting and tuneful hard rock.

Opening with This Means War Last Night, lead singer Chad Kroeger kept the crowd jumping with a mix of new songs and old favourites, including Far Away and Photograph.

Yet unlike most rock shows that draw mainly males, a fairly even number of guys and girls filled the arena to hear the band play their many hits.

Dressed in black, Kroeger shouted: “Everybody knows that a good F1 party is a good celebration of songs.”

Ram Karan, a hardcore fan of Nickelback travelled from Dubai just to see the concert, the second of the three F1 shows to rock Abu Dhabi.

“The band has been on the road for years. Their on-stage energy and enthusiasm suggested a band that truly enjoyed interacting and entertaining their audience. They never disappoint.”

Karan is particularly fond of guitarist Ryan Peake, who he says is the musical driving force of the band.

“He is a very gifted guitar player and mixes a variety of guitar tones and styles into their heavy hits,” he added.

It was quite a spectacle, as many mobile phones lit up the areana during the Rockstar and When We Stand Together.

Tyler Bedderson from South Africa, who is spending his vacation in Abu Dhabi with friends, said: “Nickelback rocked! It was an excellent show. The sound quality and the laser lights were too good.”

Zayed Al Muttawa has seen Nickelback performing in Dubai Festival City two years ago and was wowed by the large stage production and pyrotechnics that came with the performance.

“Kroeger and his band did not disappoint this time as well. They were just amazing. Bottoms Up was my favourite. I loved it,” he said.

The band took to the stage at 9 pm and performed for almost 90 minutes.
