Checklist: for Newbies, by Newbies. v.01

Starting to build your own rig?
Do you need some consultation or advice?
Don’t worry my friend. Istoryans will help you.
I found a lot of experts here on that subject matter.
Read on to know how to ask our community.

First, you should answer these questions. It will help the other members to assess your needs properly.

1. WHY are you building a new rig, for what purpose?
-Kindly state the top 3 reasons.
-If it’s for gaming, name some titles that you want it to play.
-If its intended to be a workstation, name some programs you might want to run.

2. HOW MUCH is your budget?
-State the range.
-Do you want all brand new?

3. WHAT parts/peripherals you DO NOT need?
-Enumerate them.
-Indicate if you want CPU only

4. Remarks
-Indicate the specific/special requirements. Choose from below:
Overclocking
Liquid or Air Cooling
Multi GPU (SLI, CrossFire)
Multi HDD (RAID 0, RAID 1)
Green (low power consumption)
Form Factor (mini ITX, micro ATX, ATX, mATX)
Future-proof

Second, if you already have some parts in mind, please enumerate them following the order below. If you don’t have idea for a specific model yet, please indicate your preferred brand/model series. Suggestions are preferred to be in this order also.

3. I will use my HDTV as monitor, so I need CPU only.
4. OC. Yes to liquid cooling. ATX.

Procie – Intel 2500k
Mobo – ASUS Z68 chipset
RAM – 8GB (4x2)
GPU – GTX 570 reference. please suggest
HDD – 1TB capacity. I prefer Seagate brand.
ODD - Samsung 24x DVDRW
PSU – please suggest
Case – I like Silverstone or Thermaltake brands.
LC – please suggest

Example 2:
1. For Office use only
Internet
Casual gaming (browser games)
2. 20k or less
3. please include the monitor in the budget
4. low power consumption

tama. daghan kwarta mga tao this season. pero mas daghan ang mga GASTOS. haha
new models will certainly push some price drops.
but competition will create a bigger push.
