There are rumors that Canon would be upgrading this lens to 1.8 and a better build/motor for 2012. I'm waiting until the end of 2012.

Other options for us Canon users are: Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (crop only), Samyang 35mm f/1.4, and the Canon 28mm f/1.8. There's also the Canon 35mm f/1.4L but I can't afford it.

yes! mas affordable ang samyang (still gives sharp images), ill just wait for the upgrade this coming 2012 for the 35mm, my option right now is buying a canon 50mm f1.4... im comfortable with prime lenses =) thanks sir carlo
