Default Durhan Beach Resort in Tabuelan not WORTH the trip.

    This is my personal review/comment/opinion..
For the staff and owners of this resort, do not take this personally instead take this as a challenge to better
    your service.

We were all very excited to spend one weekend in the beach.
The trip to tabuelan took 3 hours. When we got there we were all disappointed to see
that the rooms in the resort are too ordinary-looking. We were told
that the rooms are big, we reserved 3 rooms (each is good for 4 person).
There were 16 of us and we just planned to add 4 more beds.
But there is no enough space for the extra beds.
They are very strict with the number of guests in the room.
Excess is charged 220 per head and another 100 for the foam.

They have a cable TV but trust me you wouldn't to spend
a few minutes cozying in the bed watching movies on cable
cause it's like watching a video online that needs buffering
    every 3 minutes.

Everything is charged, even water for drinking while
eating in their restaurant. They have this water dispenser, that will only
dispense water if you put in a 1-peso coin (not the shiny one), if you don't have any
then there's a big chance of you choking while eating. We ordered food for lunch and
dinner there.Everything was overcharged and the food did not
even taste great. Hot water is P5/ cup. Isn't that supposedly free? It's free in hotels.
You know, we wouldn't mind paying extra if the resort was rated
five-star. Nothing so special about the place. Too many stray dogs, that would eat your food if left unattended.
The beach isn't really that nice especially if it's low tide.
    Definitely not a paradise.

Bottom line is, it's definitely not worth the trip.

Naka adto ko ani but nindot man among experience,
accommodating ang mga staff nila namo,
we can cook our own food and bring it to the restaurant and they will put it on their dishes.
And wala pud toy stray dogs,
the beach is clean and not populated and walay bato or corals,
If low tide okay lang pud ilang place dili pareha dri sa city nga way pag-asa
    Calm place
Videoke is separated and far away from the rooms which is a plus since the mgt. took that into consideration
    Well secured place.
If service water it is for free but if you prefer minera water naa jud na charge sir. Good thing gani naa silay piso piso kay sa uban resort wala juy ing ani, bottled water jud dayun.

I feel sorry for you sir nga ing ana imong exp. didto. kay sa amoa it was really worth it.

    Hi,

Sorry for your disappointed stay in Durhans White Beach Resort. I've already talked to mgt about your issue.

With regard to the trip, as all of us here in Cebu knows, the trip will usually take 2-3hrs depending on the driver and if ever you're taking a bus, VHire, Private Vehicle.

Personally, I think the rooms are worth the price and accommodation of person for each room is correct.. The room that you said is good for 4 person can actually house in up to 6 persons if you're talking about C1, C2, C3 rooms. The other rooms are only good for 2&3 persons though and we're talking about A1-4 & B1-4.

I can attest to this since I've stayed at the resort also.

yes, I agree that the excess charge is very expensive since mgt is limiting excess heads per room to give customers better comfort and the rooms wouldn't get crowded. Maybe we can have this addressed during the monthly mgt meeting.

About the Cable TV, as we all know Tabuelan is situated in the province and have very few options with the service. I remember they have already tried Dream Cable already and were experiencing problems. And now they're hooked up with Cignal Cable in which we all know buffers all the time.

As for the water, if you ask for tap water then it'll be free however if you want mineral then it should be charged, right? That's been the practice ever since. If you go eat in a restaurant, fast food chain and the likes you'll be asked if you'll have tap water or mineral, it's free for tap but you pay for mineral. Good thing that there's 1 piso hulog hulog mineral wherein you can save you're Php. 20 for a bottled water, right?

For the food, I agree with you that it's not that good. Thing is, most customers bring there own food to cook. We bring our own food to cook when we stay in resorts. It's more affordable and you can cook with you own choice of taste. The resort is doing its best to get the best cook available in the area since the location is in the province.

As for the hot water, I'll inform mgt on what can be done about this.

If we stay in 5 star hotels for a day we pay 4-8k/ room and that only includes breakfast for some hotels. Also, there are no 5 star hotels in Tabuelan.

Where can you find a resort wherein there are no stray dogs? If you go to mactan or any other resorts here in cebu, even in bohol and boracay there are stray dogs, right?

I do think that Durhans White Beach Resort isn't a paradise but close to one.

    PS:

If kamo to ang ni hangyo sa van nga mgpa hatud sa simbahan, wala mo gi hatud kay wala man to labot sa sabot cgro. Ang sabot is 2 ways lang. Going there and back to the city. If nag plano mo nga himuon unta gamiton ang van going around the town then you could've talked to the owner of the van regarding it.

Also, you could have aired your disappointment here. https://www.istorya.net/forums/destin...ice-beach.html

Again, sorry for your disappointed stay.
Hope to be of better service on your next stay.

@: findingmiming & chubbylita You mind if you can inform us also what made your stay a disappointment? So the mgt of the resort can address the issue? Thank you.

Lisud man mag "review" about sa usa ka place based on only a single experience kay subjective jud ang labas.

I've been there four times na, and was disappointed about the place only once, sa second visit namo. That time, murag naay problema sa ilang staff kay gamay ra sila and bag-o sad ang uban so di kaayo nindot ang service. My other visits to Durhans were really worth it. Personally, the awesome sunset is quite enough for me to make up for the long trip or any other hassle sa lugar, haha.

Try lang TS to go back another time and give yourself the chance to objectify your opinion about the place. As what pierced said, naa sa province ang location nga relatively not as advanced as other provinces in cebu so it's probably best to consider that before forming an opinion.
