    Thumbs up AMD Radeon Memory

Tech Island is currently under repair at the moment, so the shameless plug will be added later. Anyway, this is official as it has been posted on AMD's website. From the looks of it, they are in partnership with Patriot and VisionTek. Their line up is as follows:

    Spoiler!

    Entertainment Edition
    • Designed for cost-conscious “white box” users and system integrators
    • Meets industry standards specifications
    • Tested to help ensure quality and reliability

    Performance Edition
    • Fast and reliable
    • Great choice for home entertainment platforms and HD/3D movie playback
    • Video and music editing
    • Ideal for entry-level gamers

    Radeon Edition
    • Hand-selected high quality memory parts
    • Superior performance to succeed in critical gaming missions
    • Ultra-fast and highly reliable—designed to eliminate drop outs and delays
    • Great choice for the enthusiast video gamer AMD OverDrive™ Software for unprecedented control*

It seems only the Radeon will have the eye-pleasing heatsink even if the DDR3 (due to the low voltage requirements) do not need it.

Looks like it. They have 3 different market segments and there's one for branded desktop packages -- Entertainment Edition. I'm not sure though, there has not been any press releases, yet.

It says "for white-box users" and as previewed before with the latencies on the loose end, they are not targeted towards enthusiasts. What a bummer for AMD..

Edit: My bad. Skipped reading the Radeon Editon. Hehehe.. We will see..
