    Default .weird situation..

.. let me get straight to the point, why is it that when the dollar exchange goes up, almost instantly the prices of the commodities soars up but when the dollar exchange is low, like now, which is only 48.95, the prices are still the same. It never goes down. Why ?? I'm no economist or accountant, but it's their logic is kinda stupid. Theese businessmen are only good at computiting price increase but when it's time to lower the prices, they're to slow to react.

I think it's a high time the authorities should look into this problem. We have a price control implementation body so why not use it's teeth? If t hey don't act or they risk voter's support in the next coming elections.

Kadaghanan sad sa mga businessmen mga heartless opurtunists. They will reason out that no we can't bring prices down because of planned expansions or because of ongoing expansions. Take the case for example of SM and Ayala... they are now having huge expansions. Space rentals skyrocket so expect tenants to jack up the prices to the heavens.

.. yeah. HEARTLESS . All they think of is themselves. Greedy sons-of-money. Coz we always hear their reasons for their increase like NITAAS MAN GUD AND DOLLAR MAO NA NIMAHAL KARON . If we follow that logic then, if the opposite will happen then prices should also go down. hahayz. People should cry out of this unfair situation.

Im not an economists, pero i think that many businessmen are not evil, what is evil is when government takes control or intervene in the Market because it brings in a leverage to or other people who have close ties with the government. And i dont think, that because the peso is getting stronger that we could immediately feel its effect because there are other factors to consider. for one thing, the growing strength of the peso is taking its toll to our export industry.

Business is always selfish, not in a bad way. Because if Business sacrifices its interests which is profit for other things, then im sure that that business institution will not survive, a loss not only by the firm but also of society who also profits from it. The expansion of business like ayala or sm should not be seen as something malicious because they didnt lower the prices of their commodities, but should be seen as a blessing. Cheers

This maybe seen as a blessing to the big businessmen who survives from huge profits but for end consumers like me and many of the masses who also survives from meager income, it is for sure a curse. Let there be some kind of sytem of balance. If good things always favor the big businessmen then I'm afraid the common man's purchasing power one day will become nil and who will buy except the rich. So does that make business healthy?

but of course that is not possible, because the MArket is always objective. If the Businessmen raises their prices to something very unfair then the market will kill em. Im sure that if Ayala and Sm would have a 1000pesos price for their cheapest commodity then im sure, they wont survive the market. Market prices in order to survive is always FAIR, if ayala becomes to pricey im sure only a few people would shop in their, and i doubt that this few people clientele would be enough to compensate for the costs, that is they would experience a loss, a business that would always experience a loss, is a business walking towards bankruptcy.

theoretically, the prices won't go down right away because the higher cost to make the product being sold now has to be recovered. this is the usual excuse given by oil companies to justify the higher price of gas, even if the peso rate or the cost per barrel of oil has gone down. if the peso rate stays more or less the same over time, then theoretically, the price should go down. this is also the usual excuse given by oil companies to justify their minimal drop in price/liter.....

.. EXCUSES . That's what it's all about. That's why i'm wondering, the peso has been hovering in the 48 to 49 range for over two months now and still no mark down of prices.
