Earlier this week, HP Singapore treated the local media to a special preview of the Folio13 Ultrabook, Pavilion dm4 and ENVY15 laptops. Please note that the images are of pre-production units and not the final retail versions, and that the laptops that are shown here that have matte display, the retail units should come with glossy HP BrightView screens instead.
HP Folio13
HP has also jumped into the Ultrabook wagon and unveiled the Folio13, which is the company's first Ultrabook. However, it isn't the lightest one we have seen, weighing 1.5kg, and measuring 0.75-inch thin. The Ultrabook is designed for prosumers, which mean business professionals and consumers, and features a sleek metallic chassis, 13.3-inch high definition (HD) BrightView display and backlit keyboard. The HP Folio13 will come with either Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processor flavors, Intel Rapid Start technology for fast system resume while having long battery life, and 128GB SSD for storage. According to HP, the Ultrabook will also come with optional Trusted Platform Module (TPM), though that will be at a later date. The HPFolio13 is scheduled to be available in Singapore from December with a starting price tag of
US$1,099.
HP ENVY15
The HP ENVY15 is designed from the ground up, with an all-metal chassis and round edges in black and silver finish. The company has also included subtle red details (from the red LED surrounding the keyboard) to reflect the signature Beats Audio collaboration. Featuring 15.6-inch full high definition display, the ENVY15 boasts 9.25 hours of battery life on SSD (and 8 hours of battery life on the hard disk variant). It also offers optional 3x3 wireless technology for superior wireless performance, advanced proximity sensor technology, and fast boot-up in 21 seconds, turn on sleep mode in three seconds and resume work in one second. Incorporating Beats Audio technology, the ENVY15 comes with six speakers and two HP Triple Bass Reflex subwoofers. The HP ENVY15 will be available from December at a starting price of
US$1,499.
