Default Ultimate Gaming Setup that would at least last for 5 years.

It's been a long time since I stopped PC gaming and shifted to console. Mas mahal man gud ang PC compared to console nga one time ra paliton and probably would last at least 5 years. Though present console is still great but I think it can be easily beaten by a good PC setup today. Since there's no plan for microsoft or sony to release a new console, I'm planning to build a good gaming PC that would at least last for 5 years..that is if it is possible..Problem is I'm not all too familiar with PC hardwares. That's why I'm asking for any suggestions from the masters...I hope you would give me some inputs

Anyway I checked the buyqube.com site and tried to build my own setup, here it is:

    Processor: Intel® Core 2 Quad i7-2600K (3.40G) 1333fsb 8mb C2Q (Socket 1155) ---of should i go with AMD?
Motherboard:Foxconn H61MX Intel® H61 Chipset (Socket 1155) Core i3, i5 and i7 Support ---though naa mas mahal but I chose this much cheaper one coz I think motherboard will have no effect on performance, sakto ba?

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Starter (OEM) --I'm not sure if OS has any effect on the performance also

Graphic Display: Zotac 1024MB nVidia GeForce GTX560 Ti 2DVI-HDMI DDR5 256bit --- GTX580 is available but double the price, if the performance has a very minimal difference then I would stick on this one

    Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory w/ Lifetime Warranty (2x4GB)

Hard Drive: Western Digital 2TB Caviar Green 64MB Hard Drive SATA3 (Faster than SATA2)

--is the PSU all that important? should I stay with the stock or upgrade?

Suggestions and help will greatly be appreciated
    Thank you

For gaming an i5-2500k would be best price-wise

Do not skimp on the PSU...nipalit ko ug substandard (between a stock and a premium PSU) after 6 months nibuto nadamay ang motherboard nako...lesson learned and substandard na na unsaon pa pag stock. Like 3kster said, Silverstone but I would recommend Corsair HX at least 750w (if may plans ka mag crossfire or SLI).

Also since you plan for your PC na modugay ug 5 years I suggest keep your motherboard and PSU crossfire/SLI-option capable. Ambot kung anang mobo naa'y SLI (since Nvidia imong vid card) support, 750w PSU is more than enough for 2 na 560Ti.

Murag overkill ang 2TB na HDD, but your choice. 1TB ok na unta, go ahead with 2TB if heavy downloader ka (like me who downloads at least 1gb everyday xD)

Pila diay budget nimo for your PC?

@ehcastro-- ah ok, so important PSU for stability..yah I'm a heavy downloader

About the budget..since I want the setup to last longer I'm expecting to have a big budget..siguro around 50K or willing to spend a little more basta the best nga setup..The last time I bought a PC for gaming is around that budget also but I wasn't satisfied, it couldn't run the max setting of the game at that time (Doom) ..

    Thanks for the replies..

nindot nang mobo na musupport og SLI bro para inig pila na katuig pwede ra nimo dungagan og videocard labi kung ang mga bago games after 5 years murequire na og higher specs.

"Gaming PC" and "last for 5 years" don't belong in the same sentence.

    Falcon Northwest Configurator

... then configure the most expensive system ... then maybe ... just maybe it'll last five years and still be called a "gaming PC".
