Generally updating bios is rather safe provided it is done correctly. You simply have to read your manual on how to go about updating your bios. Your motherboard's manufacturer's site may have more updated info.

Generally you would prefer to have the updated bios as these usually address bugs found in the previous version.

Malas najud kaayo ka if mag-update ka bios and mag brownout while in the middle of updating... Can you say bye bye mobo? hehehe

partly true.ur old p3 that cant handle higher that 40gb can be fixed with a bios update.
just an example what it can do.

@ ceejay : On a personal note, i have toyed with different unofficial bioses for my old NF7s-rev2 mobo(nforce 2), Its either i was very lucky or that i just really didnt goof off, it gave me wicked overclocking results with unofficial modded bioses... athlon 2500XP-m @ 2.7ghz!! (1.8ghz stock).

true also. this is one example how great are nvidia chip mobo. u can always change bios..using other than manufacturers specified.

na mobo naa naman pakapin... akong asus gani.... naa.. direct sa site nila...
niya sila na mo update... gamit to nga application...
