Carburetor maintenance and Gas tank maintenance

Hi Guys,

I know that a carb cleaner can remove clogs from a dirty carburetor. But how about cleaning the gas tank and the pipes where the gas is running through? Can a cleaner do it? I've heard from others that they spray carb cleaner into the gas tank, so that it will mix with the gas and cleans while you're driving..

Is it true? Need advise mga pips para sa maintenance sa auto ko.. thanks.

Car fuel tanks have maintenance free filters in it. If the problem is water inside the tank, that cannot be solved easily with cleaners and filters, kinahanglan na habwaon.
Kung ang problema is dirt, sayon ra na masangit sa filters kay pino man kaayo.

Use the carburetor cleaners to clean the carburetor. Kung imo sya gamiton didto sa fuel tank with your fuel in it, you're using it as a fuel additive and not as a cleaner. Depending on what's in the carburetor cleaner formula, usually it will contain petroleum products nga maayo isagol sa gasoline to improve performance. Gasoline in itself can clean up dirt on tank walls. However, it is those gasoline built-in additives that can easily clog up fuel filters or injectors over time. Carburetors can have problems when dusts and fuel powder additives clogged up the vents and jets over long period of time. Once your carburetor is cleaned properly and rebuild cleanly, it can last for several years without cleaning. The best way to clean the fuel tank is clean it by unloading everything in it.

Only use carburetor cleaners when you know what's in it and you know how to apply them properly. Some formulation contains chemicals that can damage surface paints. Most formulation is toxic and you should take precaution when using these cleaners. Wear safety goggles when applying spray, delicado na maadto sa imong mata. Isolated cases lang na mahitabo nga kinahanglan gyud ka mag limpyo sa fuel tank. Angay lang na himoon kung sure gyud ka nga naay nasulod sa tank nga dili angay masulod like water contaminated fuel which will greatly affect engine performance.

hi don, if your gas tank is really corroded then we have to open it up and clean it in order for the dirt not to go directly on your fuel line. Its useless if we clean the carb supposing your tank and fuel line has dirt/corrosion and alike..... A clean/new filter helps the problem. No need to spray carb cleaner frequently specially if we dont know the exact content of the said aftermarket cleaner and i surely agree with vernie.

Improper use of such aftermarket cleaner/additive and etc may only cause problem on your car.
