Try this one.
1 1/4 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. peanut oil
1/2 clove garlic
2 scallions minced
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. hoisin sauce
1/3 cup pineapple juice
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with 1/3 cup water; set aside.
In a skillet, heat the peanut oil and fry the scallions and garlic until the garlic is lightly browned.
Re-stir the cornstarch mixture and pour into the pan along with the soy sauce, hoisin sauce and pineapple juice. Bring to a boil and simmer, stirring, until the sauce thickens.
Spoon it over the turkey and enjoy!
*NOTE: Amount of cornstarch needed may vary depending on desired sauce thickness. If it gets too thick for you just add more of one of the liquid ingredients (according to taste).
Post your thoughts if you try it out. ThanX
^^^ thanks a lot Namnori. I'll definitely be trying this out since I already have these ingredients. Is this the type of sauce used in those peking ducks in Grand Convention or the turkeys in Dad's since I noticed one of the ingredient is hoisin sauce?
have you tried using cranberry sauce?
Not yet, but I heard about it being good for turkey. I googled cranberry sauce recipes and it usually involves actual cranberries which I think is hard to find here especially at this time of the year, if any. Is the cranberry sauce in the supermarket good enough as it is or do I have to add something? Thanks.Originally Posted by pnoize2k6
Something like it, sweet & salty.
Canned cranberry sauce is fine for me. You can find Ocean Spray brand jellied cranberry sauce in SM or Ayala. I saw it in Ayala the other day.
I don't know if you can find fresh cranberries here in Cebu. But that is also very easy to make as the basic recipe calls for cooking the berries in water and sugar. Ilike to add a little orange zest and/or peel also.
