need help for upgrade on old computer (graphics card dilemma)

hello everyone. im not very techie with regards to computer components. just the basics. im sure i can learn a lot fron you guys here since there are a lot of experts here in istorya. here is my current setup. its an old computer around 2007 and i want to upgrade a little so as to maximize its use.

Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 1.80ghz
Intel® Pentium® Processor E2160 (1M Cache, 1.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)

Foxconn G31MX-K 2.0 motherboard

2 x 2GB Kingston 667 slim type RAM

500w generic PSU

Powercolor X1650 PRO 512MB DDR2 graphics card

im planning to buy the dual core E6600 2M cache 3.06ghz. i think its enough for my budget as of the moment while it supports my board. if theres a better suggestion for a proc, i would appreciate it also. i dont want to change my mobo since it will be an added expense since ill be buying another set of RAMs. im also in a dilemma on what to get a graphics card that would somehow compliment my current setup and provided that i have upgraded my proc to the E6600. need your help what is the better graphics card for this setup. i dont want to say best since budget is an issue. i usually use the comp for graphics work and some gaming. i dont have enough funds yet to buy those i5's and i7's yet. i just want to maximize what i have as of the moment.

really need your help guys. im in a budget and hopefully i could find the components that would compliment everything.

your motherboard can support up to core 2 quads. you can buy quadcore processor in buy n sell section Q8XX series for a cheaper price of 3.5k slight price difference if you buy a brand new core 2 duo processor.

my budget for a decent video card would be around 3k max. by the way, can my mobo support those 5k to 8k priced graphics cards? those GDDR5's? sorry really noob about this.

i mostly play call of duty series, medal of honor and battlefield. these games run smoothly with the current setup i have. when i tried to play shogun 2, it lags at medium settings. plus the quality in medium settings isnt that good too.

well if your graphic card budget would range 5k to 8k,you should at least prioritize your PSU like a 80%+ efficiency i guess...

ah ok i see. what if use i still use my psu but just upgrade my graphics card? maybe a bit more noticeable difference compared with my existing X1650 512mb? kana lang jud mu compliment sa tanan existing specs nako run.

i think i'd go for hd 4670 or hd 5670... kay kana nga cards dili need ug extra power...
