Default What would life be like as a Japanse province today?

What would life be like if we were still a Japanese territory, perhaps a Japanese province? Would we still have the same problems regarding political corruption, waste management, economic disparity among the city dwellers and rural folk? would we still be threatening each other with separatist movements? Maybe we were better off if General Macarthur mind his own business?

It'd be great! For the Japanese. I'd expect Filipinos to be second rate citizens in their own country. Lets not forget that the only reason Japan is Japan today is arguably because of US help. I guess some people just are better at making the best of the situation. The Philippines didn't lose the war, Japan did ... what is the Filipino excuse?

Hehehe, this thread reminded me of a Korean movie entitled "Lost Memories 2009". In the said movie, Korea never became independent but instead remained part of Japan since Japan allied with the US and won the war. And almost all traces of Korean culture is gone and Korea is very much like Japan. Go watch it, it's kinda wierd and eerie at the same time.

We'd most probably be speaking Japanese, trying hard to be Japanese (even though we'll never be) and you're correct second class citizens.
