Bamboo Mañalac Goes Solo : Check Out His New Single 'Questions '
Life goes on for Bamboo Mañalac after the break-up of the hugely successful rock band that bears his name. I thought that Bamboo decided to quit the music industry and live his life in private. I was wrong, he was preparing for the right time to come back and that time is now… yes he’s back! Bamboo Mañalac goes solo.
I was really saddened after NU107 takes it final curtain call in November of 2010, I really never thought that the band ‘Bamboo’ would be gone disband after two months (The band Bamboo disbands last January 11, 2011.) But Pinoy music scene starts to ignite again as the former frontman of the band ‘Bamboo’ returns, not with another band, but as a solo artist.
On Bamboo going solo, will continue to shock his fans and assured them that nothing will be changed. He said, “It’s the same pressure I’ve always put on myself. Whether in a band or going out on my own, or whatever I do. Just wanting to push, claw and climb.”
There’s a better proof to Bamboo on going solo— his first solo release under Polyeast Records, “No Water, No Moon.” It points to Bamboo’s jazz roots but heads toward the genre he’s known for— mainstream pop rock. But he is especially proud of his first single, “ Questions.”” He says, “I felt this was a good intro to the album because it has a lot of colors and instrumentation in just one song. The song is personal but I thought it spoke of human experience.”
“Questions” released in radio stations on September 22, at 10 a.m., and will be aired simultaneously nationwide.
Bamboo Mañalac, who produced and wrote most of the songs, has been in the U.S. for the final mastering of the album and for special performances of his songs, which will also be released internationally. He’ll be back after the tour in time for the album release, which will be announced later this month, along with the release of the album’s first video.
In the meantime, his North American tour brings him to the following: Sept. 24 – Umbrella Lounge, New York City; Sept. 25 – The Opera House, Canada; Sept 30 – Los Angeles, California; Oct. 1 – San Diego, California; Oct. 7 – Vancouver, Canada; Oct. 8 – San Francisco, California and Oct. 9 – Anchorage, Alaska.
As Bamboo goes solo, his former members of the band started a new and formed Hijo and continue to play music. Listen to Bamboo’s new single “Questions” from his first solo album “No Water, No Moon!” There is really something about his voice that calms me. Glad he’s back!
