Do you find the Barong Tagalog pleasing to the eye?

I'll get this straight.

For me I don't find the Barong Tagalog sophisticated. Long ago, Barong was mistaken to be used only by peasants.

I still find suits and tuxedos more classy. For some reason.

What I don't like about the Barong is that, your undershirt is see-through!

And of course, Barong is creepy! It is being wore by deceased persons, in their coffins!

I like the Barong Tagalog. I like the opaque ones so that u don't see the shirt underneath with a mandarin collar instead of the shirt collar. My fiance is pbbly gonna wear one at the wedding while I wear a Filipino dress as well as our Malay outfits.

and what do western foreigners wear when they are inside the coffin? a hawaiian shirt? of course it's a suit or a tuxedo.

btw, i prefer a barang tagalog. it's very filipino. it matches the typical filipino stature better.

Ok raman ang barong, it is a sign of our national heritage... True, barong was used by peasants and indios before, but now most of us wear it with pride.

Depende na sa occasion... But i would prefer Barong Tagalog kaysa sa tux... Mas presko suoton...

...for me depends ra sa angayan... When you are in the front of the mirror then if you think that you look tidy of Barong Tagalog when you wear it then that's good for you, otherwise you may find other suit where you can be satisfied at the front of the mirror with that kind of suit you have selected. My Advice is that don't look at how expensive, glimpse, and attractive material of the suit alone but look on how you fitted in with that suit, - sometimes we called it "attitude" - look at the mirror - and ther you are smiling with confidence because you are totally tidy with that kind of suit you wear.... that's it.

Barong Tagalog is not only pleasing to the eye but it is pleasing to the body as well. It suits our tropical climate, hayahay kaayo compared to the amerkana. and it also makes me proud to show our filipino heritage by wearing a barong tagalog.
