Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy set in the 60's during the Cold War is about a retired MI6 agent (Oldman) who is called back to duty to find a mole right on top of the Circus (MI6). It is based on John le Carre's best selling novel of the same name and the first of the Karla Trilogy.
The Wettest County in the World is about bootlegging during the Great Depression set in Virginia about three brothers in the business. Still with Tom Hardy and co-starring Shia Labeouf. Oldman will play a gangster.

For me he's up there with Sean Penn, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr. Therefore he shouldn't be playing minor roles. Sayang iyang talent.
