Hi istoryans,

A friend of mine and I just thought of going to Dubai for 5-7days but we need to know the DO's and DONT's....what are the things to buy or see...Must places to go and visit there....and how much budget we need to bring or will be spending?

I would like to share my own knowledge, Dubai is an open city and 80% of its population are expatriates, it means people living outside their native country - Europeans, Asians, etc are majority. They are not really that strict in terms of dress codes compared to the rest 6 emirates. When travelling there, in a visit visa just make sure you have been sponsored by one of your family members and it would greatly helped if you have the same family name. They will be the one who will process your visa and authentication of sponsorship -red ribbon.

I will be visiting Dubai this Sunday, and my brother is sponsoring me. Roughly the amount we have accumulated is about 40k all for papers processing and ticket. I hope this helps.
