I did not know how I missed Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul until I watch the trailer of X factor US.

According to Wikipedia, GMA news TV will air the show starting on September. Cant' wait.

But will it surpass the ratings of america's most watched TV show, IDOL?

Same here. I was even hoping to see her on Idol. Rumor has it that she was axed from the show because of her accent, which Americans might not find it amusing(this is so lame). She was also said to be a personality duplication of Paula Abdul.

But I think Simon did not push through with Cole, since there will be no "strong" judge anymore on the UK X factor since Cowell is leaving to focus on the US version.

Well, Cheryl's not going back to the UK version. She might be lined up as a mentor in the UK version of "The Voice". I don't care what Americans think, I love her accent hehe.
