    De La Hoya-Mayweather
    (USA TODAY)

May 5, 2007: Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya. Site undetermined. Both men say this will be their last fight, a statement boxers have been known to take back. De La Hoya is likely to be an underdog.

    The records:

Floyd Mayweather: 37-0, 24 knockouts. Titles won: WBC super featherweight, WBC lightweight, WBC light welterweight, IBF welterweight, WBC welterweight

Oscar De La Hoya: 38-4, 30 knockouts. Titles won: IBF lightweight, WBC super lightweight, WBC welterweight, WBC junior middleweight, WBA junior middleweight

De La Hoya is 33 (34 by the time of the fight) and has only fought six times in the last five years, once since Bernard Hopkins knocked him out with a body shot Sept. 18, 2004. Mayweather will be 30.

With so much at stake in this fight and all the emotions that will be involved, do you think Oscar is better off getting another trainer to train him for this fight? Or should he just go with Floyd Sr.? I think if he goes with Floyd Sr. training camp might be a little awkward. What do you think? Do you think Floyd Sr. is wrong for training some one to fight his son? I probably couldn't do that to my son regardless of our relationship. Floyd Sr. has no official words yet.... he was quoted before that he wont train oscar if he fights with floyd jr....

ill go for delahoya over mayweather. i believe that floyd's recent opponents, judah, mitchel, baldomir can be disposed and even koed by delahoya easily, far more convincing that floyd has done. floyd has no power at that weight. he'll be running around the ring just like what he did to baldomir. expect fans booing and leaving the arena early. mayweather will have the same fate of roy jones jr. delahoya will expose his black a@@. delahoya has great stamina even at his age and floyd will be tagged by one of the golden boy's barrages. if i had been mayweather sr, i will train delahoya the best that i can to teach my son some valuable lessons of humility. anyway delahoya cant kill him with his punches, only hurt him.
