how to enable sound on hdmi

i have radeon 5570 video card that has hdmi but it can't output any sound. I have already installed the driver but it won't show playback device in the control panel it's only the realtek hd audio

Should i install another driver?

Read the manual there is an instructions how to setup manually from your gpu to your mobo something you need to connect though!

tan-awa sa imo audio properties boss... then try nga i-set sa default device ang HDMI sound (kalimot ko unsa exact name pero makita ra nimo diha)...

Did you get a little cable (S/PDIF) with your graphics card? That plugs between your graphics card and motherboard to send the sound through the HDMI cable. Like this.







some cards require this to be connected for the audio to be streamed via hdmi

Part of the feature set of a new graphics board is that it has an HD Audio Controller built
into the board to allow you to easily and seamlessly output both video and audio via an HDMI output
using the Active DVI-HDMI converter which may have been included in the box.

For this reason, part of the driver installation routine also installs the appropriate driver for the HD
Audio Controller. The behaviour of the installation of this driver does not automatically set the
default audio device to be the HD Audio Controller on the graphics board. Consequently, audio will
still be routed to your existing speakers.

If you intend to use the HDMI output as your primary output and want the audio routed along the
HDMI cable then you will need to change the default audio device from the Windows Control
Panel. Please note that by doing this audio will no longer be routed to your existing speakers, only
down the HDMI cable, until you reverse the procedure.

salamat sa mga replies. i tried to do that pero wala man siya sa selection sa control panel. Mag-install pa ko utro ani. I tried it in ubuntu makitan man ang device sa system settings.

Just wondering if pwede ni sa ako 6970? Nag gamit man gud ko ug HDTV na monitor and gusto unta nako ang sound sa ako HDTV kung mag TV mode ko adto na labas sa akong sound card. Currently naka connect ako monitor to video card via HDMI cable pd.
