could you check your Jumper settings?

put the harddrive to master and and slave or cable select for cd-rom drive (much better if manual configured to slave mode).

    I suggest using a 80pin IDE cable.

also before attaching your cd-rom drive, load your bios to default or optimal settings. turn it off and attach your cdrom drive..

you may also want to check the power going to your devices.

ako na nasuwayan bro primary master = harddrive on IDE1 then secondary master = cdrom on IDE 2. and also switching both HDD and cdrom from IDE 1 to IDE 2. mao lng gihapon.

i tried also to attach only the cdrom and jumper is set to master. but still no luck...

checking on the power wla p nko masuwayan coz i dont know how..

try booting the computer with CDROM drive only. try to see if it still pose problems.

if it can boot thru USB, you may barrow an external Optical Drive.

u need to set the jumper of ur optical drive to cable select. most dell systems have IDE optical drives that have jumpers configured by default as cable select. sometimes the mobo could not detect the IDE device if jumper is set to master or slave.

    tip:
    1. remove all IDE devices connected to mobo, set jumper to cable select
    2. change IDE cable of optical drive
    3. plug optical drive to primary IDE connector on mobo and turn on system. check on bios if it is detected
    4. if detected, turn off system and switch the IDE cable from primary IDE to secondary IDE, now turn on system if it is still detected
    5. if detected, turn off system and add your hard drive, plug in the IDE cable to the primary IDE connector to the motherboard (im assuming you are still using and IDE hard drive and the jumper is set also to cable select), now check on the bios if both are detected

note: you may also try switching a different power connector from ur psu bacin loose contact na ang molex connector

what i did with my xeon server PC....

i got this abroad and i did not brought the case coz bugat.. so i placed it on a normal ATX and bought a PSU nlang. maybe he could buy a cheap atx nlang..pero try it muna with a PSU. kng mag work they he could decide either to modify his dell case or buy a new case....

coz i think PSU ang problem ani... loose components or mobo is giving up....
