Default Job Security - is there such a thing?

Job security, is there such a thing? For those who have been through the economic crises of 2008, perhaps can shed light? For those who worked in the company of 15 and 20 years and lost their jobs perhaps they can advise-- when the company that was supposed to be partner for life closed - like those CAP's, etc.,-insurance, and even banks. For those who worked in Libya, Kuwait(Gulfwar), Japan, OFW's can share their experience, if there is such a thing a job security or security of tenure (labor laws). Or redudancy or obsolescence of the position.
For those whose parents passed away, or lost their jobs..perhaps can shed light.

Is there a solution to these "force majeur" situation, something like storm or "Act of God", a kind of protection for such situation to happen, calamity ?. This is discussion is for the many of us 80% of the population who depend on employment and all of a sudden lose everything. How do we protect ourselves from these eventuality? Quite a broad question but just narrow down - to what you think could help....

By the way I'm no financial advisor, or selling insurance or even insured..

"WE" move on as you said, The power of "WE", there is a lot "WE" can accomplish, "WE" should work smart, not hard. Nothing "I" can do, agree, but a lot "WE" can do...

If a person is dependent on his job as a source of income then he/she is in a big trouble.

Should find a way to get another sources of income such as part time / freelance, business, investment or any passive income.
