PS3 120GB Slim - Turns itself off (Not YLOD)

Hi fellow istoryans,

I have a PS3 Slim 120GB, bought last April 2010 and it is out of warranty. 1 year warranty ra, tried to talk to the vendor but no chance.

As a background I haven't used the PS3 much, probably 300 hours since I bought it. So I rarely use it cause most of the time, I am in front of my PC.

It isn't dusty, it never feels too hot and there is a large amount of space around the PS3 for ventillation.

So here's the problem:
- I turn on the PS3
- Load up the game, or leave it, doesn't matter if I do anything
- Suddenly, it turns off. Doesn't beep. No yellow light. No flashing red lights. Just off.
- I can't turn it on by pressing the power button, or by turning it off/on by the plug socket. I need to actually remove the power cable, put it back in and THEN it turns on.
- This happens between 1-10 minutes after PS3 turned on. Sometimes less than 1 minute.

Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe the power cable, but it's never been twisted into awkward shapes and looks pretty fine to me. I also tried with another power cable but it didn't help.

I've tried to find a similar problem but everyone seems to mention a Yellow Light. Mine doesn't flash any lights, it just turns itself off.

bro im not a ps3 user ha, pru base lng sa imo gsulti ma trace man ang problem, murag naa na sa iya supply murag ni give up na, pwede sad nmo itry ni, buy a new power cable or hulam lng sa imo mga frnds kinsa nai ps3 pud.. or if dili man gani mao ako gsulti, hulat lng ta sa uban na naka exprnce na ani..

mura ramn gud ni ug pc bro, maisulate jud nmo if kamao lng jud ka sa system..

I mentioned above that I tried already with another power cable but it did not help.
Mao ra pud ako ma pasanginlan ron as of the moment na naa something wrong sa power supply na jud.
Just asking here if naa ba other ways to check or fix this problem before I open the console myself and start googling from there.
Or mas better, if naa mo kaila na mo fix ug PS3, please let me know.
