Default How are these stones cut and machined?

A close inspection of the stone above reveals that there are regularly spaced drill marks along the precision-cut 6mm groove.

    Puma Punka, Bolivia

these massive blocks of granite and diorite range from 200 to 800 tons. the only tool that can give this kind of finish is an industrial grade, diamond tipped cutting tool. but these structure in bolivia is an ancient one. how did they do it?

No one exactly knows the answer at the moment. It can range from molding (an ancient form of concrete), or plain and simple uncanny accuracy in the hands of those ancient masons.

However...I suspect this is not the main reason why a post like this has begun to surface again in this section of iStorya.net...some people are testing the waters once again...so before this subject turns sour, yet again...

"...just because it was Jack's shirt that was stolen doesn't automatically imply that Jill was the one who stole it."

Ergo, if anyone ever mentions anything about ancient astronauts, aliens or time travellers in this thread, I'll close it without batting an eyelid. Don't turn the Science section into your afternoon entertainment galore variety show.

Architects sauna, mga maayu.. wa ta kahibaw unsa ilang gi-gamit, some special tools..

I've visited Taj Mahal in Agra India og one castle in Jaipur, India.. They don't have tools like we have today, but they did it with precision.

If you slice Taj Mahal Vertically from Center, it's a complete mirror horizontally.
Even the designs on the wall of Taj Mahal.

My point, bright jud ang mga tao sauna, but too bad, wala nila gi-record gi-unsa nila og himo because, like the workers of TAJ MAHAL, dili ganahan makahibaw/ma-copy sa uban nations ang ilang masterpiece..

There actually are ancient Incan legends that suggest that they had the capability of softening the stone. At Saqsaywaman, for example, we find these gigantic stone blocks, gigantic stone walls, where it looks as if those stones were molten , put into place, and then the stone hardened again.

The modern Peruvians are very fond of speculating as to the method which the Incas employed to make their stones fit so perfectly. One of the favorite stories is that the Incas knew of a plant whose juices rendered the surface of a block so soft that the marvellous fitting was accomplished by rubbing the stones together for a few moments with this magical plant juice!

Maybe this stone, during the ancient time is not as hard as when they (people) made it. As time pass by, this has been harden in proportion sa time.
