Default Road Revolution. Yes or NO?

Environmentalist proposed a ordinance to convert the main roads in Cebu City to 30% bike lanes, 30 % side walks, 30% for Filipino-made collective and non-polluting transportation systems, and 10 percent for greenbelts for edible gardens.

If you can remember last June 12, the group started their campaign by closing the Osmena Blvd to cars for a day, and open it for bikers.

    Sounds interesting huh?
    But how realistic is this?

It's a nice idea, pero we'll a need dictator (and VEEERRRYYY wide roads) para mu-implement ani na clase na ordinance. We'll need a leader with an uncompromising political will kay pirting daghana muangal ani. Personally, Ok ra sa ako mag-bike all the way to work, para mugamay pud ako tiyan. ^_^

This will go nicely with the proposed BRT system by the way.

@brandnewbien "Do we really have a road?" nice question. I think naa wala lang gyud nato ma maximize ug pag-ayo. We need a systematic urban planning.

I couldn't agree more. Do you think this will be implemented karong admin ni Mayor Rama?

I don't know sa BRT if mo jive ba siya sa road revo kay 30% for motored vehicle is very small para sa Buses.

    dili ni realistic...

commuting by bike only works in countries with temperate climate not a tropical country with 100 degrees weather.

they will never ban cars or prioritize bikes because the politicians don't ride bikes, they drive cars
