why is series 4 hdtv showing mono in tv mode

good day, i just purchased a samsung series 4 lcd tv for my father. based on the specs, it has 2x 10watts speakers. pero di ko kasabot nga kung naka tv mode with skycable, there is a display saying the channel and below the channel naay naka butang mono. ngano ingani ni? bisan naka set nako ug on ang srs surround, mugawas jud ang word nga mono right below the channel.

can somebody having the same tv model help me with this. thanks kaayo.

how are you connected to your subscriber? tru coax goin to tv or av-cables? kung coax na, i think mono jud na sya. if naa box use the av-out to connect to ur tv

kato rang ordinary connection bro. kato bitaw circle ang connector dayon ipa-tarok and then you turn it like a screw para mu fit. co-ax na tawag ana? dili man digital ang connection sa skycable. kato raman analog. so meaning the lcd tv nga ako gipalit can output stereo pero the signal it is getting from the source is analog?

so kanang mga crt type nga mga tv mono pod ang output ana bro if co-ax rapud naka connect? na looy mangud ko sa ako papa kay ako gipapulihan iya tv kato crt type unya ingon siya na mono na hinu-on instead of stereo. heheh..


another comparison:
-what i bought for my father is series 4, he has skycable analog cable.
-what i have in my house is series 5, and i dont have cable connection, pang movies lang ako gamit.

-sa tools sa series 4 naay sound mode (dual I II naka set to mono and dili na ma-ilisan)
-sa sound menu sa series 5 if i set to tv source, naay choices nga (stereo, sap, mono) even if walay naka plug nga cable connection

kalimot na ko sa ako tv basics bro but i think mono jud na if mugamit ra ka sa coax or antenna connection to your tv bisan unsa pa imo sound settings sa tv-menu you will still hear it at the center jud(unless naa sya feature to simulate stereo from a mono source)

Kana galing Cignal, do they send in stereo sound coz I find the audio really a bit off sa cignal.

ah ok. that is what i wanted to confirm. coz i explained to my dad nga basin ang lcd tv has stereo capability pero mono lang jud ang signal sa cable. my theory is, maka option man gani ug surround, unya stereo pa hinuon dili. so ako gi blame jud ani is the cable connection.

@ earlz, wala pa ko ka try anang cignal bro. nice unta na cya kay sa regular cable stretched mangud ang image if u want full screen sa lcd tv. im assuming wide screen na ang image ang cignal.

Ambot aning cignal, morag dli ni 16:9 ilang format then morag pixelated ra kaayo. Series 4 man sad nig TV namo but lain kaayo tanawon.. mas nindot pag 360p sa youtube.

cignal is broadcasted in 100% digital(kuno as advertised)... but i think ang ila mga source mao ang bati...

my old conventional TV can detect FTA stereo and produce stereo output.

but my HDTV can detect only mono. basin naa seguro ni sa sound decoder sa HDTV.

analog fta or digital? SD ra man ang analog, digital fta is for hdtv, i think...
