Cebu fire razes 20 homes, damages school

A PREDAWN fire razed at least 20 houses and damaged a school in Cebu City early Monday.

A radio report said the fire took place around 2 a.m. at the Villa Aznar area in Barangay Sambag 1.

According to the report, the fire started at a boarding house allegedly from an overheated electric fan.

Four classrooms of the Southwestern University were reported to be completely destroyed while two others were partially burned in the fire.

Authorities put out the fire before 3 a.m.

The damage to property was estimated at P2.1 million. (Sunnex)
