Creative industries have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent and that have a potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property. Creative industries encompass major segments including: artisanal products; visual arts; performing arts; cinema and audiovisual media; literature, books and publishing; and others.
The UNCTAD/UNDP classification of creative industries is divided into four broad groups: HERITAGE, ARTS, MEDIA, AND FUNCTIONAL CREATIONS, including creative services such as architectural, advertising, cultural and recreational, creative research and development (R&D), digital and other related creative services.
There will be a Creative Enterprises/Industry Summit this June 21 and 22. The Summit will present valuable insights, updates, discussions, and action programs on creativity and innovation as drivers of economic development in the Philippines, the world marke and share best practices on creativity and innovation for business excellence, growth and global competitiveness.
