Default Performance Gain when using CL7 and CL9 RAMs

Folks, theoretically how much or how significant will be the performance gain between having CL7 RAM over a CL9 one?

I'm particularly eyeing on these 2 G.SKILL RAMs

    (G.SKILL) Ripjaws-X 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz (F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH) vs. (G.SKILL) Ripjaws-X 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz (F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL)

The price difference is quite significant so just checking if it is really worth it...

In addition, which is probably better, getting a faster CL9 RAM or just the lower speed CL7 RAM?

    (G.SKILL) Ripjaws-X 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz (F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL) vs. (G.SKILL) Ripjaws-X 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz (F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH)

    Appreciate your inputs!

Depends on the Platform X58 and PhenomII X4 prefer tighter timings while sandy bridge does not really care that much for either.

go for CL7 with higher voltage its good for overclocking purposes for an AMD Setup.

a CL7 is faster than a CL9...there is hardly any perceptible difference in terms of ordinary, real-world apps...you see the difference if you do synthetic benchmarks like mem copy/mem write etc.

    murag barely noticable unless benchmarking....

but how about if in my case, 1333 DDR3 Kingston Value Ram, compared to G.Skill DDR3 1600, in a SB platform

in gaming, CL7 to C9 or even C11.. you'll see no difference.
