Sarah Illenberger , an artist from Germany, came up with the idea of camouflaging a Smart Car in nice mosaic of recyclable cardboard boxes.
In order to complete her project she selected different shades of green, thus producing a pixilated form of the car. Besides, Illenberger worked in collaboration with Smart and Cartondruck, a company specializing in packaging to design the vehicle.
In 2010 Illenberger's work was presented in Paris. The presentation was hosted by Marc Langenbrinck, Managing Director of the smart brand. The idea behind the "pixilated" vehicle was to underline the creativity of smart cars.
